Lindsay tries to convince temperamental artist Sam Auerbach to allow the art gallery where she works to mount an exhibition of his creations. When Lindsay complains to Melanie about Auerbach’s sexist behavior, Melanie suggests that Lindsay play along. Sexily attired, Lindsay visits Auerbach again. Atop scaffolding erected for the painting of a large mural, Auerbach touches Lindsay inappropriately, and she responds by striking him in the mouth with a paintbrush, nearly knocking him off the scaffolding. Rather than being angry, Auerbach is intrigued.

Ben reacts negatively to the news that a Hollywood movie director wants to bring Michael and Justin’s comic book, Rage, to the big screen.

At Babylon, a sexy stranger, Shane, becomes the focus of an ongoing wager between Justin and Brian, with each of them trying to seduce him. Ultimately, it is Brian who gets him first. But after Shane performs oral sex on Brian at Babylon, he hands Brian a business card. Brian refuses to take it until Shane identifies himself as a doctor and informs Brian that he felt a lump on Brian’s left testicle. Shane urges Brian to have the growth examined as soon as possible.

Ted tries to make amends with Emmett, who has moved in with Debbie, but Emmett refuses to read Ted’s letter. After a 12-step meeting, an angry Ted reminds Blake that the former addict turned drug counselor never made amends with Ted. Late at night, Blake shows up at Ted’s apartment to do so, and he and Ted kiss.

Still angry, Debbie ignores Vic and Rodney at the diner. Later, over coffee and cake at Vic’s new place, Debbie and Vic seem ready to make peace, but another argument erupts. Vic tells her to leave and not return until she’s ready to apologize. Furious, Debbie shouts, “I don’t care if I ever see you again,” and her parting words to her brother are “F**k y**!”

Michael and Emmett go to Vic’s house to drop off his cooking paraphernalia from Debbie’s house. They find Vic seemingly dozing in front of the television, and Rodney is nowhere in sight. A closer examination reveals that Vic is dead. Debbie is shaken by the news. The gang, minus Ted, tries to cheer her up, but Brian ignites her anger when he says that Vic was one of the lucky ones, having survived his struggle with AIDS for so long and finding love with Rodney at the end. Enraged, Debbie slaps him hard across the face and, cursing him, orders him out of her house.

After the gang leaves, Emmett tries to comfort a guilt-ridden Debbie. Alone in his room at the end of this tragic day, Emmett finally reads Ted’s letter.
