Michael returns from Paris a snob. When David and Michael host a fund-raiser for a senator, Michael chooses not to invite Debbie or his friends. When Debbie and the guys learn of their exclusion, they decide to show Michael he has made a mistake. Debbie, Vic, Brian, Ted, Emmett and Justin arrive at the fund-raiser dressed outrageously and change the atmosphere from stuffy to Babylon-esque. When Michael realizes Debbie has been speaking with the senator all night, he yells at her that she is an embarrassment. Realizing how obnoxious he has become, he apologizes to Debbie and the group.
Justin’s attempt to start a gay-straight alliance is opposed by school officials. When Jen visits the principal, she is told that not every “group” can have a meeting. Debbie organizes a protest, and the senator attends. The senator uses the protest as a forum for school funding and benefits Justin’s cause in the process.
Melanie and Brian fear Lindsay will marry Guillome. When Guillome threatens to adopt Gus, Brian realizes he must take action. He decides to give custody of Gus to Melanie, if she and Lindsay get back together. Melanie and Lindsay happily agree.
