When Michael discovers David has not been cashing his rent checks, he becomes upset. Determined not to let David pay for everything, Michael refuses to do anything he can’t pay for himself. Dismayed, David agrees to cancel the surprise trip to Paris he scheduled. After talking it over with Ted, Emmett and Brian, Michael discovers paying for himself not only hinders him but also David. Michael concedes that if David wants to spend money on him, he should graciously accept.
When Justin encounters homophobic bullies at school, Debbie convinces him to start a Gay-Straight Alliance Club. School officials stop the club meeting and inform Justin he cannot form a gay club at school.
Melanie tries to apologize to Lindsay, but she discovers a Frenchman, Guillome, living with Lindsay and Gus. She soon learns that Lindsay has decided to marry Guillome in order to get him his green card.
